Beyond The Buzz

There are journeys that fill the mind with knowledge, and there are those that fill the heart with wonder. Our trip to Bantay was both. With every step, we uncovered the town’s rich heritage, and with every bite, we tasted its soul. This is our story.

It all started inside Mrs. Evelyn’s computer lab, where our ideas first took shape. Sitting before our screens, we mapped out our adventure, researching Bantay’s must-visit places and must-try delicacies. Excitement buzzed in the air as we planned our travel, eager to step beyond the walls of the classroom and into the heart of history itself.

What began as a virtual journey soon transformed into reality, and before we knew it, we were setting foot in the town we had only seen in pictures.

During our trip, it was very thrilling as it was my first time to ride a bus, alone, without any parental guidance. We were super nervous we wouldn't reach our destination.

We even thought about making it all the way to Manila! Our photo shows our nervous smiles, filled with happiness and thrill.

It was a short trip, lasted about 30 minutes as we regretted our decision on taking the bus as we lost 100 pesos.

Bantay is a place where history comes alive. The Bantay Bell Tower stood tall, watching over the town for centuries. Climbing to the top, we felt the cool breeze and saw an amazing view. Rooftops, the Abra River, and far-off mountains.

It felt like stepping back in time, imagining the stories of the people who had once stood in the same place.

What’s a trip without food? Bantay’s local delicacies made our taste buds dance with joy. We bit into crispy, golden empanadas, filled with tasty dried fish. And for dessert, we had royal bibingka, soft and sweet, the perfect way to end a meal, only at Senyorita Dulce.

At the local market, we met vendors who had been making these dishes for generations. Their passion and love for food made every bite even better.

As the sun set, painting the sky with colors of gold and pink, we sat together, laughing and talking about our day. Bantay gave us more than just memories, it gave us a deeper appreciation for history, culture, and the simple joy of experiencing new places.

Everything we saw, tasted, and felt had become a part of us. As the last rays of sunlight disappeared, we knew this was not just a school trip. It was a story we would carry with us forever.

Our journey through Bantay was more than just traveling. It was learning, tasting, and feeling connected to something bigger. Some places don’t just exist on maps—they stay in the hearts of those who visit them.

Until the next adventure.
